Interested in joining the TUGS executive team?

 

Elections are held at the end of March every year!

 

President (one person)

  • Attend department and ASSU meetings

  • Co-signer of TUGS finances

  • Must have been on the TUGS executive for at least one semester

  • Fulfill duties which other members of the executive are unable to complete

  • Oversee executive members’ duties

  • Provide leadership and organization

  • Establish a strong link with department 

 

Vice-President (two positions)

  • Provide assistance to the president and other executives in any TUGS affiliated matters 

 

Treasurer (one person)

  • Manage TUGS finances and ASSU grants

    • Ensure receipts are returned to ASSU

  • Provide financial reports when required 

 

Secretary (one person)

  • Record minutes (including attendance) of all TUGS meetings

  • Book rooms for all TUGS events

 

Academic Outreach Officer (one person)

  • Act as first point of contact for other campus organizations

  • Initiate and organize social events such as seminars, career days, et cetera

  • Reserve rooms required for academic events

  • Make announcements in classes

  • Create connections with other campus group and organize events

 

 Social Events Coordinator (one person)

  • Initiate and organize social events such as pubs, urban walks, et cetera

  • Reserve rooms required for events

  • Take initiative and plan events

  • Make announcements about events in classes

 

Media Officer (one person):

  • Creates and organizes the distribution of posters for events

  • Advertises events on all relevant platforms

  • Maintains the website according to University of Toronto guidelines and update it regularly

  • Control the organizations social media accounts (Instagram, Twitter, FaceBook etc.)

 

Stream Representative (four positions: Environmental, Human, Physical and G.I.S)

  • Represent the interests of their respective program streams on TUGS

  • Makes announcements in courses relevant to their stream 

  • The first contact for each stream course 

  • Provide assistance on course stream of action and where applicable guide undergraduate sudents

  • Four positions are appointed spread between the Environental, Human, Physical, and Geographin Information System subject POSt streams
